Overview of the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer - Deployable Solar to join our Solar team in Los Angeles - Hawthorne. This role will play a critical part in designing and building some of the largest and most powerful vertically deployable solar arrays for the Lunar surface.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, build, and test structures and process components for ultimate use on the Lunar surface.
- Define & justify system requirements, conduct trade space analysis, document decision processes, and write operational procedures.
- Interface with adjacent teams to cohesively integrate hardware with supporting subsystems.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD and detailed engineering calculations/analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects from start to finish.
- High levels of personal agency & productivity.
- Evidence of exceptional engineering ability.
- A desire to make Humans a multi-planet species.
Benefits and Compensation
The salary for this position is estimated at $120,000 per year, plus an equity package that scales with candidate experience. Additional benefits include PTO and health/dental/vision coverage.
