Duties of this position include:
- Provide management oversight of our Third -Party Administrators' (TPA) Workers' Compensation claim personnel by monitoring claims on-line using the TPA’s claims system
- Utilize Starr systems to document file activity, including coverage confirmation, diary management and identification of files that require monitoring
- Pro-actively address cost containment measures, litigation management and resolution strategies with TPA and insureds
- Provide superior claim services to internal and external claim partners
- Participate in claim reviews with insureds, brokers, and TPAs
- Interface with Underwriters regarding claim status exposures. Discuss trends and other factors impacting their risks
- Prepare and present internal management reports for claims with net exposure to Starr Indemnity & Liability Company in excess of $250,000, as required
- Maintain and/or obtain any state adjuster licenses as directed by management
- Participate in special projects
Skills Required:
- Minimum seven years handling Workers' Compensation Claims
- Supervisory or previous oversight experience preferred
- New York Workers' Compensation construction experience preferred
- College degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Must be self-motivated and a team player
