Description

Essential Job Functions:

This position is responsible for supporting the Excess Casualty and Excess Construction teams. The work activities include:

• Work with claim management to conduct initial triage of incoming claims to determine complexity for proper segmentation and assignment of the file.
• Proactively monitor excess claims to assess potential impact to Starr coverage.
• Issue acknowledgment and positional correspondence as warranted
• Communicate with insureds and brokers regarding status of claims.
• Process payments in Starrs Claims platform
• Produce Loss Runs for internal and external partners
• Create, run, and distribute reports as needed
• Research policy and client information in Starr systems.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• The candidate must have experience in the insurance industry and the ideal candidate will have experience in the casualty line of business, and a desire to rise within a claims organization.
• Two-to-four years of claims experience, an adjuster’s license is preferred. Licensing needs are not a day 1 requirement but it must be pursued shortly after.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but will also look at relevant job experience.
• Must have experience with a claims case management system and understand the claims lifecycle
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Must be service oriented.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  
  

For individuals hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable compensation range. A reasonable estimate for this role is between $52K - $75K.
