Senior Underwriter

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and underwrite technical risk exposures on new and renewal business
• Maintain a $10-15 million existing account renewal book to a minimum 90% renewal retention
• Travel to and conduct client and broker meetings on all major renewals
• Develop new business account production
• Travel to and complete marketing/sales meeting in assigned territories within the Southeast Region
• Ensure underwriting and service standards are met on assigned accounts
• Develop insurance proposals, prepare policies and endorsements, obtain Home Office underwriting approvals where needed
• Purchase reinsurance (only with approval) when needed, review reinsurance certificates and complete reinsurance documentation
• Arrange account engineering service
  
  

Skills/Experience Required:

• 5-7 years underwriting experience including a substantial amount in the technical risk discipline
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business/work experience
  
  

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000-150,000.
