Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Benefits Account Manager located in Calhoun, GA (or open to possibly reporting to one of our other offices after training) with some work-from-home flexibility. The Benefits Account Manager will be responsible for managing client accounts, assisting with benefits enrollment, communicating with insurance providers, and maintaining accurate records. Daily tasks will include developing client relationships through stellar service and providing excellent support to our Benefits sales executives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships, by phone, e-mail, and in person
- Assist assigned clients and EB staff with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues, and problem solving
- Continually seek cross-sell opportunities and suggest new lines of coverage
- Work with EB producer to monitor and manage the renewal process for assigned clients
- Coordinate meeting with client and/or producer to present the renewal and supporting documents to gain acceptance of the renewal or commitment to go to market for alternative options
- Prepare marketing information for the producer to present the options to the client
- Schedule and conduct client employee meetings in coordination with the producer, and complete the implementation process
- Enroll clients in EB communication tools. Demonstrate use of the tool with client. Introduce resources to new clients and existing clients at renewal.
- Assist clients with compliance (e.g., HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA and legislative), as requested
- Assist clients with routine requests (e.g., ID cards)
- Conduct quarterly account management visits with assigned clients
- Review claims reports monthly and deliver reports to clients on a monthly or quarterly basis, as required
- Coordinate and facilitate the preparation and delivery of key enrollment information for clients
- Assist assigned clients by helping plan and execute Health Fairs, seminars, webinars, as requested
- Provide administrative support on other tasks as needed.
- Achieve proficiency in AMS360 for client documentation
- Achieve proficiency in Monday.com for task and project management
- Attend seminars, classes and carrier meetings to stay current with new products available for clients and acquire expertise in legislative changes, as opportunities occur
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in managing client accounts and providing stellar customer service are required
- Knowledge of benefits enrollment processes and insurance policy information
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and insurance providers
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate records and processing claims
- Ability to ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel)
- Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred

- Achieve proficient in the Employee Benefit Agency Management System, specifically to update policies that are written or renewed, log activities to document client meetings, carrier follow-up, service issues, establish follow-up date and daily manage follow-up. Also, understand how to use the system to acquire information to assist clients.
