What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Tech - Evenings position at Starr Regional Medical Center?
$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE for qualified applicants
Performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory.
Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
- Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Performs quality control testing.
- Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
- Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
- Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
- Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
- Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

Minimum Education
Associate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent and certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT) OR
AAS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT):
- Preferred, X Required
Required Licenses
MLT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Technician license:
