TITLE: Early Interventionist
FLSA Status: Part Time or Full Time/ Non-exempt
Reports To: Clinical Director
Schedule: Monday-Friday and some Saturdays as needed
Location: San Diego County
Salary: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour COE
Summary: Under the direction of the Stars Therapy Clinical Director, the Early Interventionist provides early intervention instruction to children between ages 0-3 years enrolled in the California Early Start Program for the San Diego Regional Center. This role provides weekly instruction through in-home services to a caseload of children throughout San Diego County ensuring compliance with regulations in all aspects of services. The Early Interventionist plays an integral role in each child’s continued development through weekly instruction while demonstrating a family-centered philosophy and respect for cultural diversity.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains a caseload of families to which they provide direct services in an in-home setting, clinic or community based as assigned
- Completes detailed reports for each session documenting the child's development, behavioral needs and other required data by the scheduled deadlines
- Collaborates with caregivers in addressing developmental and behavioral concerns of children by sharing learning plans, suggesting activities, and by providing educational information
- Regularly cleans toys and other materials in preparation for instruction
- Maintains accurate documentation and client records through various company systems
- Completes required documentation and data collection by set deadlines
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, training and in-services for Stars Therapy Program
- Collaborates in assessments and adapts an individualized client treatment as needed
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as a team
- Communicates effectively by maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
- Applies a high level of discretion handling confidential information
- Ensures compliance with industry regulations including but not limited to HIPAA and all company policies
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with team members, vendors and consumers
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, training and in-services for Stars Therapy Program
- Completes all assigned training programs
- Performs additional job duties as assigned based on operational needs
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Develop objectives following Stars Therapy Program procedures
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop new techniques accordingly
- Build strong relationships with Stars staff, community service agencies and families
- Demonstrate high attention to detail
- Effective time management skills
- Work flexible hours to meet program requirements
- Commute to various areas in the San Diego county
Minimum Requirements:
- B.A. degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development or related field (Preferred) or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- One (1) year of experience working with children (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Adult, child, infant, AED) & First Aid (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel, MS Word
- Available to work on Saturdays based on operational needs
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check
- Must be able to submit verification of authorization to work in the U.S.A. upon hire
