What are the responsibilities and job description for the Two Year Old Teacher position at Start Bright Academy?
A Lead Two's Teacher must: Be at least 19 years of age. Have a high school diploma or equivalent education. A CDA, TCC or Paraprofessional Certification is preferred. A background check, CPR and First Aid certification is required. Must be mentally and physically capable of caring for the ratio of the room; ten children alone in a classroom. Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences. Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have age - appropriate expectations. Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs. Ability to stand or walk for an extended period of time. Be available for full time employment and available to work as early as 6:30 am and as late as 6:30 pm Have dependable transportation. Be teachable, trainable, willing to complete 10 to 18 hours of training annually and implement the knowledge gained and received. Report to administration when supplies/learning material are low. Report Damaged or broken equipment, objects and toys to management.
REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS Ensure the health, safety and well-being of each child by responding to their basic needs, emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs. Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times. Be a positive role model for all care giving staff and children. Be customer service orientated and professional. Provide excellent customer service according to the standards of Start Bright Academy. Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance according to personnel policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Including, but not limited to, the following: Maintain an organized, clean, healthy and safe environment for staff and children. Be the primary caregiver for up to ten children in the classroom. Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development. Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times. Assist children with activities of routine care (restroom use, diapering, hand washing) Communicate directly with parents and develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and students. Develop and implement weekly lesson plans according to the children's needs and interest. Treat children and staff with respect and dignity. Manage a busy classroom environment and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for everyone in the class. Contribute equally to housekeeping tasks. Lift language and help the children problem solve. Perform other duties as needed or assigned. Must be a team player and versatile. maintain a professional attitude and loyalty towards the center. Attend staff meetings and required or recommended ongoing training programs and conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS. Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children. Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service. Supervise teacher aides in the classroom and ensure they are following program policy and customer service expectations. Train any teacher aides in the classroom and direct them as to what duties need to be carried out throughout the day. Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children. Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences. Attend and engage in occasional parent participation events and other events that may be on nights and/or weekends. Prepare weekly lesson plans according to policy. Be responsible for daily sheets and the daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and diaper changing. Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
