We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team at Start Early. In this role, you will work closely with our Preschool Certified Teacher to create a stimulating environment that supports the developmental needs of young children. As an Assistant Teacher, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the preschool teacher and team to develop individual child education binders, maintaining confidentiality and following program regulations. You will also assist in creating a vibrant classroom environment based on ECERS guidelines, integrating CLASS concepts into daily interactions, and participating in lesson planning sessions.
Additional responsibilities will include scheduling and conducting parent-teacher conferences and home visits, building strong relationships with families, and adhering to Individualized Education Programs and Family Service Plans. You will also incorporate children's interests, cultures, and school readiness goals into individualized and group learning opportunities, celebrating the richness of our community.
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of one year of experience in an early childhood setting, preferably with knowledge of Head Start/Preschool for All programs. A Gateway's Level 3 Early Childhood Education credential is required within one year of employment, and a Paraprofessional Educator License is required within three months of hire. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children and families from diverse backgrounds are essential.
