The Mentor Coach (Center Based) assists in the implementation of curriculum and best teaching practices in all Birth through Five classrooms across the grantee. Primary responsibilities include regularly scheduled site visits, classroom observations, feedback and coaching, community collaborations and HS/EHS trainings within assigned sites.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Child Development (CD), Early Childhood Education (ECE) or in a related field.
Related Experience:
Grade: 16
As of the time of this posting, this is the expected base annual salary range. The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations.

Reporting to the Mentor Coach Manager you will:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with the Early/Head Start Network Child Development Sub-Recipients, Community Partners and Directly operated Programs to ensure all Head Start and Early Head Start education staff are utilizing the curriculum to fidelity.
- Provides ongoing coaching to education coordinators and/or mentor coaches at program sites.
- Assists Education Coordinator with monitoring EHS/HS classrooms and Family Childcare Homes to assure that classrooms are safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments for children.
- Attends workshops and trainings related to Education and Disabilities. Shares information from workshops and trainings with Grantee Support Services.
- Provides ongoing training, and technical assistance to Sub-Recipients, Community Partners and Directly operated Programs related to education services.
- Works cooperatively with other component coordinators to plan education services integrated with health, mental health, dental health, nutrition, parent involvement, and social services.
- Monitors child data base systems and provides support with producing quality observations, assigning educational objectives and improving child outcomes for children.
- Develops and disseminates information and resources related to early childhood to support teachers, education coordinator and program quality improvement efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Child Development (CD), Early Childhood Education (ECE) or in a related field.
Related Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in early childhood education, early childhood development, and program management and coordination is preferred.
- Three years of work experience as an early learning coach, education coordinator, consultant, mentor, or trainer.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice for the specific children and families ages three to five.
- Be able to remain abreast of developments in the child development field.
- Knowledge of and ability to access, analyze, and interpret Head Start Standards, state and local licensing requirements and the organization's philosophy.
- Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals, and community groups.
- Ability and willingness to travel to Head Start and Early Head Start programs located in a high-risk, low-income community.
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to learn and master computer technology/software programs as needed.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold, and CLASS.
Grade: 16
