Exciting Opportunity: Forensic Case Manager
As a Forensic Case Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system who are experiencing serious mental health challenges. Your work will help them transition into a stable and supportive environment, ensuring they receive the resources, treatment, and advocacy they need to thrive.
This role focuses on enhancing independence, autonomy, and quality of life while ensuring compliance with judicial requirements for public safety.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and support individuals transitioning from commitment under Chapter 916, F.S.
- Coordinate services and collaborate with courts, attorneys, and community resources.
- Assist individuals in navigating the mental health and criminal justice systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with conditional release plans.
- Provide competency restoration services and attend medication management appointments.
- Maintain detailed electronic health records and ensure timely documentation.
- Attend court hearings, treatment team meetings, and community partner meetings.
- Participate in weekly and monthly case review meetings to monitor progress.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, health education, or a related field.
- Preferred one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness OR
- Three years of experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances OR
- Two years of experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in case management & advocacy in an outpatient mental health setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health records.
Licensing & Certifications:
- Medicaid Certification (or eligibility) as a Case Manager.
- Must pass Background Check, MVR, and Federal Drug-Free Workplace Screenings.
