Successful completion of Background, MVR and Drug Free Workplace Screenings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma /
equivalent. One year of medical office / patient registration
experience. Enrollment in a nursing (RN, MA program)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license. Eligibility to sit for certification exam within 14 months of hire.
SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant will assist and support the Medical Department. Attend medical staff meetings and mandatory staff training sessions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates phone system to receive/forward incoming calls.
- Completes administrative duties.
- Locates patient records in Electronic Health Record.
- Obtains laboratory results
- Obtains controlled substance reports through FL PMP (E-Forsce)
- Prepares charts daily.
- Advises medical staff when Treatment Plan, Treatment Plan Review are due.
- Assists with insurance verification, prescriptions and benefit administration.
- Assist with calling individuals who no show appointments
- Letters to clients who no show and can't be reached by phone
- Manage trackers
- Performs other duties as assigned/required.
- Trains on Medical Assistant role and responsibilities to include vitals, collection of medication history information, medication reconciliation, completion of flow sheets, injection administration, health screening assessments, discharges, treatment plans, and state documents.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
