Position Summary
The Cultivation Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of harvest / grow staff and the day-to-day tasks associated with compliance, weekly harvests, canopy management, propagation, and daily workflow. This position will inspect for quality assurance from seed to testing and ensure the procedures are being followed and meet specific requirements set forth by the Cultivation Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Proficient and fluent in all jub duties required of all cultivation leads and technician positions.
- Ability ensure team members are trained and can perform all job duties.
- Set quarterly goals and IQP’s for direct reports.
- Diagnose plant health, deficiencies, pests, and other issues while coming up with the best solution to harvesting product.
- Training all employees on proper harvest techniques and overseeing the harvest process.
- Assist with the design of company’s SOPs as it relates to the Cultivation and Harvest process.
- Will coordinate and oversee, all Cultivation and Harvest activities, within the facility, to ensure all harvests’ quality are up to company standards.
- Manage optimal asset utilization and establish staffing requirements to meet schedules. Propose and lead corrective actions should issues arise.
- Responsible for training and accountability of Leads in METRC.
- Responsible for accurate record keeping and data collection.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Associates degree in Agriculture or Agronomy or 3-5 years' experience in a large scale regulated cannabis facility.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass background check.
- Must be able to obtain proper badging as required by state law.
- Understanding of harvest techniques and cannabis pests/diseases.
- Understanding of common grow room equipment such as irrigation systems, air conditioners, dehumidifies.
- Works well in team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated managerial experience in a manufacturing/processing environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
- Able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE.
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
- Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general hardware tools needed for common repairs
- Exposure to allergens, and chemical pesticides in the grow facility or greenhouse.
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water.
