Stash Ventures LLC is looking for a payroll specialist to join our accounting department. Our payroll specialist will be responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and on time. Duties will include reviewing bi-weekly timecards for discrepancies, calculating spiffs and commissions for those it applies, reviewing all new hires and change reports to ensure accurate payroll, attending to, and resolving employee payroll issues, and managing all aspects of the payroll process including general ledger balancing and posting of payroll within the accounting system.
A successful payroll specialist will be detailed oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Processing payroll for 400 employees with the utmost level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Entering payroll information and maintaining payroll files.
- Calculating salaries, overtime earnings, and vacation deductions.
- Issuing paychecks in a timely manner.
- Preparing general ledger entries with earnings and deductions.
- Generating payroll reports for controllers to review.
- Preparing payroll and tax reports for federal, state, and local agencies when required.
- Attending to payroll inquiries from employees.
- Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked holidays, late payments, etc.)
- Performs internal audits to ensure deductions are accurate.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- An associate degree required in accounting, finance, or a similar field; bachelor’s degree preferred
- A minimum of two years' experience as a Payroll Specialist, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Payroll Software, Alliance payroll software knowledge preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Extensive experience in preparing ledger entries and processing payments.
- Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports, as well as answering payroll inquiries.
- Ability to maintain and update employees' payroll files.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
