Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support in both administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling.
- Perform basic coding for insurance purposes and assist with billing inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Provide administrative support such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and filing documents.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient education regarding treatments.
- Collaborate with medical staff in various specialties including dermatology and internal medicine.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks.
- Knowledge of vital signs assessment and basic life support techniques.
- Familiarity with coding practices relevant to medical billing.
- Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and common medical terminology.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Experience in common lab and specimen collections such as blood draws, urinalysis testing, H. Pylori testing, Covid and Flu swabs, etc.
- Must have at least one year of experience in the medical field.
