Summary of Position
The teller assists new and existing customers of the Bank with account transactions and uncovers sales opportunities. In addition, the teller acts as a resource in identifying and resolving customer service issues. The teller, through conversations with the customers, uncovers financial needs, communicates products and services opportunities, and refers customers to the appropriate banking center personnel. The teller's role is to be welcoming, establish rapport, and provide outstanding customer service to the Bank clients while performing account transactions.
Essential Functions
1. Processes customer transactions accurately and in compliance with current policies, procedures, and guidelines.
2. Prevents errors and losses through careful attention to detail.
3. Accurately gives account information to customers based on request. Follows all regulatory, security and audit requirements.
4. Maintains responsibility for cash drawer and follows proper cash control procedures.
5. Provides excellent customer service and adheres to State Bank Customer Service Standards.
6. Owns a customer problem until it is resolved. Listens to customers’ needs and proactively resolves service issues. Properly channels complex customer service issues to proper department or personnel.
7. Meets individual established referral goals.
8. Makes product or service recommendations based on customers’ needs and refers to the appropriate banking center personnel.
9. Maintains knowledge of banks products, services, fees, and policies.
10. Continues to build customer relationships by viewing customer accounts when performing transactions and identifying potential needs.
High school education or GED required with some college preferred but not required. Prior customer service background required. Previous cash-handling experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, or controls, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must be able to work in close proximity to other co-employees and concentrate efforts on tasks despite noise, interruptions and general commotion.
