Job Description:
Your primary responsibilities as a Bank Teller will include providing exceptional customer service, executing a range of financial transactions, and supporting the branch team's sales initiatives. This will involve identifying and referring sales opportunities to the relevant departments for further action.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service and communications skills.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Actively contribute to meet the branch business goals, as well as individual sales and customer service goals.
- Provide account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.
- Record transactions by logging cashier’s checks and other special services; preparing currency transaction reports.
- Complete special requests by closing accounts, taking orders for checks, exchanging foreign currencies, completing safe-deposit box procedures, and providing special statements, copies, and referrals.
- Process address changes and collect security box rental fees.
- Build customer relationships and participate in cross-selling and offer new products.
- Maintain a supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency to Lead Teller.
- Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Comply and stay up to date with applicable laws and regulations.
- Reconcile cash drawer by proving cash transactions, counting, and packaging currency and coins.
- Accurately close out the teller terminal and remit daily work to supervisor.
- Actively promote teamwork, leading by example and taking initiative to assist others.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling client information.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Working Relationships/Contacts
- Internal: Regular contact with employees at all levels regarding all banking needs and services.
- External: Regular contact with customers.
