Job Description:
As a Universal Banker, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, sales of bank products, and maintaining new and existing customer accounts. Additionally, you will assist all departments of the bank with achieving overall financial goals of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Managing client accounts, including opening, and closing accounts and overseeing transactions.
- Build and maintain customer relationships by resolving customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and effectively.
- Serve as a digital expert and assist customers with all aspects of bank technology.
2. Sales:
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the bank’s products and services effectively.
- Assist in branch call efforts by reviewing, updating, and calling prospect lists regularly.
3. Team Collaboration:
- Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry and maintenance of customer records.
- Processes assigned reports and/or job duties in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide support to all other departments as needed.
- Support all State Bank locations as necessary during vacation and shortage of staff.
- Serve as Teller and/or Vault Teller when necessary.
Teller Functions:
- Provide account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.
- Record transactions by logging cashier’s checks and other special services; preparing currency transaction reports.
- Maintain a supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency to Lead Teller.
- Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Comply and stay up to date with applicable laws and regulations.
- Reconcile cash drawer by proving cash transactions, counting, and packaging currency and coins.
- Accurately close out the teller terminal and remit daily work to supervisor.
- Actively promote teamwork, leading by example and taking initiative to assist others.
Vault Teller Functions:
- Manages cash on hand to facilitate normal financial transactions with individual or business accounts. Returns excess cash for credit to appropriate Federal Reserve Bank. Maintains the vault within dual control policy requirements.
- Maintain a supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency.
4. Compliance Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure adherence to guidelines.
- Adhere to all customer confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling client information.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
