Help Wanted: Lawyer Referral Representative

In this role, you’ll interview, analyze, and direct individuals seeking legal assistance to the right attorney or resource. Key Responsibilities:
- Interview individuals to assess their legal needs and provide appropriate referrals.
- Make referrals to social service or governmental agencies for non-legal issues.
- Screen for eligibility for modest means, legal aid, and other assistance programs.
- Direct lawyer referrals to individuals who are able to pay for legal services.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and follow-up actions.
- Help improve efficiency through process and system reviews.
- Assist with problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Verify panel and State Bar member license status.
- Support new staff orientation and training.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
- 1-3 years of customer service or related experience.
- Strong multitasking abilities and experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent phone etiquette, communication, and writing skills.
- Familiarity with data entry and proficiency in computer systems (Microsoft Teams, web-based portals).
- Knowledge of administrative procedures, including record keeping and office systems.
- Ability to resolve routine problems independently.
- Compassionate and patient, with the ability to work with diverse communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain professional and calm in a fast-paced environment.
