Primary Purpose:
The tutor provides academic support for students in their courses. Tutor serves as a role model and helps develop pride in the student. Tutors are expected to be active learners, not experts.
Education/Certification:
Certified Bilingual teacher Experience:
Certified Teachers/Retired Teachers: Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on the floor and or in a classroom.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be positive and professional.
- Arrive on time and prepared for class.
- Always act as a role model and wear appropriate attire.
- Assist students in area of academic need.
- Actively participate in collaborative groups and tutorials.
- Inform the teacher in advance of absences or late arrival on a tutorial day.
- Become familiar with the specific routines and expectations of each teacher’s classroom.
- Facilitate the tutorial learning process.
- Adhere to district/site policies and procedures.
Student Management
Present a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
