What are the responsibilities and job description for the FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE WORKER position at State Center Community College District?
Position Overview
Developmental level in the maintenance occupation requiring working knowledge in facility and equipment maintenance (e.g., mowing, landscaping, general building repair, maintenance, and minor equipment repair). Under general supervision, may perform minor maintenance and repair of parks, grounds, facility buildings and related equipment.
Summary Of Job Duties
Performs general facility and equipment maintenance outdoors, such as, sweeping, trash removal, litter collection, cleaning debris out of loading tunnels and tunnel ramps, snow removal, mowing, setting up and disassembling displays in public facilities, painting, and minor equipment repair (i.e., replace minor electrical devises, repair/replace plumbing fixtures). In addition, stocks shelves, organizes warehoused items, and collects donated items from participating businesses and schools.
Performs general facility and equipment maintenance indoors, such as painting and plastering, repairing or replacing minor electrical devices, repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures, replaces light bulbs, cleans and oils equipment.
Acts as Traffic director for commercial and public tipping floor. Safely routes customers to tipping floor, communicates with loader operator to prevent safety issues, and reports any safety issues to supervisors to prevent reoccurrences.
Works in recycle area and yard waste pad; keep recycle pad neat and organized; notifies supervisor as containers fill up; signs-in yard waste customers and verifies residence in Montgomery County; inspects yard waste loads for contamination; also directs recycle customers to correct areas to deliver recyclables.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
Equivalent to tenth grade education and six (6) months of experience in general maintenance; must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must obtain Forklift Certification within one (1) year of hire date. Must maintain certification.
