What are the responsibilities and job description for the State College High School Thespians Advisor position at State College Area School District?
The State College Area High School is searching for a candidate to fill the position of Thespians adviser.
The Adviser of State High Thespians provides adult leadership and supervision to the thriving 150 member student club throughout the school year. The Thespians Adviser:
Plans and supervises the upcoming performance season, including the coordination of all artistic staffing for productions.
Secures and reserves rehearsal and performance facilities with building administration.
Collaborates with the student board of directors to plan and execute club meetings and additional events and activities throughout the school year.
Attends Bravo Boosters monthly meetings and supports Bravo events and fundraisers throughout the school year.
Communicates regularly with all stakeholders, including families, school administrators, artistic team members, district business office personnel, custodial staff, school faculty, and community groups.
Is highly organized and processes excellent communication skills, with significant background knowledge in the performing arts.
Available to work afternoons (4-6pm), and some evenings and weekends.
Experience as a stage director, producer, or technical director for theatre preferred.
