What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Veterinarian position at State College Veterinary Hospital?
Pennsylvania, starting summer 2025.
Our beloved veterinary hospital is looking for 1-2 PT or 1 FT associate DVMS.
My AMAZING associate will be leaving summer 2025 to follow her heart and boyfriend to a new state, and I'm not ready to retire. ;)
State College Veterinary Hospital was established in 1955. I bought the hospital in 1988 fresh out of veterinary school and did a full gut & remodel makeover in 2014.
We have two exam rooms to focus on quality not quantity.
We are 100% small animal only. Mainly dogs and cats.
Our software is Avimark. For comprehensive xrays we use Sound DR . Our handheld Nomad takes amazing dental shots that go through the tigerview software. We also have an older esaote ultrasound but it does the job we need. We use several labs for send out bloodwork such as Idexx, Znlabs and universities.
Our treatment room is the hub of our practice. You will find Idexx lab equipment, an oxygen kennel, state of the art wet table along with several work stations where you can keep an eye on all surgical and anesthetic patients.
We offer a great benefits package including PA license, AVMA/ PAVMA/VIN dues, liability insurance, CE allowance and paid days, vacation/sick PTO, IRA w/ match. Health insurance and DEA for FT.
We are REALLY looking for another colleague who shares a passion for the field, can bring fresh ideas, isn't afraid to work up cases, and values the whole team. An interest in surgery, dentistry, and accreditation a bonus.
New grads, old timers like me, or mid career are all considered. I'd be intrigued if you had a special interest or skill. Or maybe you are boarded and wanted to work in a small and relaxed surrounding or are interested in pursuing some partnership.
After hours emergencies are handled by the local ER, but we do have half day Saturday hours that would rotate between myself and the new hire.
We are in the heart of Happy Valley located in State College. All the big perks of a city, yet just a few miles out of town is the most beautiful country and mountains you can see.
