What are the responsibilities and job description for the WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE REPRESENTATIVE position at State Compensation Insurance Fund?
Credit and Collections Department has an opening for a 2-year Limited Term Credit and Collections Analyst with the possibility of a permanent appointment. This position will ensure policy issues effecting cancellations, cancellation withdrawals, bankruptcies, rescissions, non-renewals, active charge offs, bill disputes (extensions), coverage cases and pre-coverage check are processed according to the department procedures and guidelines and that resolutions are handled timely and efficiently to reduce outstanding premium; ensure any risk associated with the above is limited through accurate processing and documentation.
We are looking for a candidate who has the following skills and abilities:
- Policy and billing related experience
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well with others and maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to ask effective questions, evaluate information, apply guidelines and procedures, and make accurate and timely decisions
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maximize utilization of computers to accomplish daily tasks
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Products
- Current working knowledge of Cancellation and Collection processes and procedures
- Experience in collaborating and working with business partners while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in-person in the Vacaville location on an as needed basis
This is a 12-month limited term position which may be extended, cancelled, or made permanent at any time.
If becoming permanent, the selected candidate must be eligible for a permanent appointment at the time of the LT appointment or at the time of the conversion.
New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions
The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
