Overview
State Fair Community College is seeking qualified applicants for an Adjunct Automotive Instructor to teach in our ASE Master Certified Automotive Program. This is a part-time position located on the State Fair Community College Sedalia, Missouri campus. This is for anticipated instructional needs in the Automotive Technology program. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction to support student learning and skill development in the automotive field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in courses aligned with the Automotive Technology curriculum.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans, hands-on activities, and lab exercises that meet course objectives and ASE standards.
- Assess student performance through tests, assignments, and practical evaluations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and organized lab environment in compliance with institutional and industry safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Automotive Program Coordinator and other faculty to ensure program goals are met.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to provide students with current knowledge and practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings (as directed) and contribute to program development (as needed).
Typical Qualifications
- Documented industry training in Automotive Technology
- Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience in automotive repair and service.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- ASE Master Certification
