Overview: State Fair Community College is seeking an innovative and engaging Adjunct Instructor for the Computer Information Systems and Web Development Program. The instructor will teach courses focused on computer information systems, programming, web development, and related technology courses. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience, technical expertise, and a commitment to preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
- Teach assigned courses in computer information systems and web development, which may include programming, web technologies, and database systems.
- Develop and deliver engaging course content that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Provide constructive feedback on student projects and assignments.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements and incorporate relevant information into the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress ensuring confidentiality of student records.
- Submit attendance and grade reporting according to due dates established by the institution and communicated through SFCC email.
- Maintain timely communication with students.
- Engage in all required professional development.
- Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum updates and instructional best practices as needed.
- Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Web Development, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Industry certifications (e.x. Google, AWS, Microsoft, Adobe, or web development-related credentials).
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the computer information systems industry.
- Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Proficiency in web development technologies and programming languages, including HTML, CSS, C#, Python, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with instructional design, best practices for teaching technology courses, and online learning platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive instructional materials.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
