POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Office Work Study will assist other Business Office staff with day to day office tasks.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Business Office Work Study will support all aspects of the Business Office staff with filing, copying, indexing, customer service, telephone support and all other day to day aspects of the Business Office.
- Answering and making phone calls
- Data Entry
- Opening and disseminating mail
- Assisting students with payment plan setup
- Monthly student bill preparation
- Alphabetize file
- All other duties as assigned
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must be student eligible for a work-study position. Qualified candidates must have attention to detail and the ability to work individually and independently.
Requirements include:
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Reliability and timeliness are required
- Time Management
- Organization skills
- Positive customer service skills
- Ability to follow policies and instructions
This position is a part of the Federal work-study program, to qualify you must be a State Fair Community College student enrolled in the current semester and eligible for Financial Aid through the Federal Work-study program. The job is in a fast-paced environment that requires good communication, customer service and problem solving skills. Candidate will possess a working knowledge of computers, excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate student centeredness and be able to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds in a positive manner. Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.

Student Work Study Positions are funded based on student FASFA status on a per semester basis. If you are a SFCC student, please check with our Financial Aid Department to see if you qualify.
If you do not qualify for Work Study, this position will be paid with department funds.
Student workers cannot work more than 17 hours a week.
