What are the responsibilities and job description for the Work Study position at State Fair Community College?
The Student Life Work Study will provide assistance to the Campus Housing Coordinator for document management to digitize old records to aid in the process of providing storage for items for residents to check out once physical records are indexed. Additionally, the student can aid the Director of Student Life with the planning, organizing, and execution of student events and programs. The role will focus on increasing awareness about events through flyers and advertisements as well as assist with the setup/teardown for the events that they are available to attend.
- Scans and indexes Student Life information/files to assist with data management.
- Helps Student Life staff maintain files and processes paperwork.
- Interacts with students and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Completes data entry requests, maintains reports, files, copies information and mailings lists.
- Maintains accurate records such as spreadsheets and other related Student Life documents.
- Assists with planning, promoting and coordinating student events and activities.
- Track department spending and reconciles department spending spreadsheet.
- A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work

This position is a part of the Federal work-study program, to qualify you must be a State Fair Community College student enrolled in the current semester and eligible for Financial Aid thorough the Federal Work-study program. The job is in a fast-paced environment that requires good communication, customer service and problem solving skills. Candidate will possess a working knowledge of computers, excellent oral and written communications skills, demonstrate student centeredness and be able to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds in a positive manner. Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.
Employment will require a criminal background check at College expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.

If you do not qualify for Work Study, this position will be paid with department funds.
Student workers cannot work more than 17 hours a week.
