As a Claim Associate in our Auto Weather Catastrophe (AWC) team, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering the State Farm promise to our when a natural weather event or catastrophe has occurred. You will play an instrumental role in helping our customers recover from the unexpected!
In this role, you will work as part of a cohesive team that specifically handles customer’s auto claims, while always focusing on creating a remarkable customer experience.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and handle auto claims due to weather-related events which may include completing initial contacts to gather information and set expectations for further handling
- Resolving a large volume of claims that do not require a physical inspection and are expected to close quickly
- Verifying coverage and addressing coverage questions
- Reviewing estimates and repair bills
- Addressing disputed charges
- Analyzing supplemental damage estimates
- Communicating with our policyholders, contractors, sub-contractors
- Working with your team to ensure claims are paid and our promise is delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible

Preferred Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, Skype for Business, SharePointe, etc.)
- Data entry skills
- Excellent phone skills
Preferred/Desired Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience
- Call Center/Customer service experience desired
- High School Diploma and some college credits preferred
What You Can Expect
Pay Rate: $34,759.00/year non-exempt – there will be opportunity for overtime with this position.
Hours of Operation: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday customer time. *Depending on customer time zone and employee office location, employee shifts may fall outside of 7:00 am-7:00 pm. Our normal schedule is 7:45 a day however we handle weather related losses and when the demand arises, we shift to a 6 days a week 10 hours a day in a moment’s notice (less than 24 hours).
Training Details: There will be approximately eight (8) weeks of paid, mandatory training M-F from 8:00 am-4:30 pm. Training will consist of modules, instructor-led training, and hands on training. Toward the end of training, employees will receive their regular, assigned work schedules. One full week of training may occur in our CityLine campus in Richardson, TX.
Licensing: Successful candidates selected for this position will receive a job offer stating that continued employment as a State Farm Claim Specialist is contingent upon meeting the requirements necessary to obtain appropriate state(s) mandated licenses. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s), and background checks required of various state(s). Failure to do so may result in termination.
Telephone Monitoring: Positions are subject to telephone monitoring and/or recording for quality assurance and training purposes.
Travel Requirements: Travel overnight via commercial transportation or driving motor vehicles to any location the company does business, or other locations to conduct/attend training, conferences, meetings, and/or seminars may be required. This is an in-office position and travel will be limited.
