industry. As a Claim Specialist in our PIP/MPC (Personal Injury
Protection/Medical Payments Coverage) department, you will be part of a team
dedicated to delivering the State Farm promise to our policyholders and their
covered passengers after they sustain injuries in an auto accident. You will play a critical role in helping them
recover from the unexpected!
In this role, you will have the opportunity to maintain and
handle your own inventory of PIP/MPC claims, while always focusing on creating
a remarkable customer experience.
On a daily basis, you will investigate, evaluate,
negotiate, and handle your assigned claims which may include completing initial
contacts to gather information and set expectations for further handling, verifying
coverage and addressing coverage questions, reviewing medical bills and records,
addressing disputed charges, evaluating wage loss claims, and handling/responding
to litigation/legal requests. You will
help direct and work closely with a team of Claim Associates to ensure claims
are handled/paid and our promise is delivered as quickly and efficiently as
possible.

Must Have Skills/Technologies
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
skills.
Strong analytical skills along with high competence in
the following: Adaptability, Customer Focus, Decision Making & Judgment, Relationship
Building, Quality, Resourcefulness, Teamwork, and Technical/Functional
Expertise.
Ability to apply policy, law, and regulations to ensure
proper resolution of claims.

Preferred/Desired Skills, Education, Knowledge,
Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Claim handling experience, preferably PIP/MPC (first
party medical) or third party injury claims
Medical billing/coding or office management experience
Adjuster's license
What You Can
Expect
Pay Rate: $53,095.25/year
Hours Of Operation: 8:00am-5:00pm customer time. *Depending
on customer time zone and employee office location, employee shifts may fall
outside of 8:00am-5:00pm. In addition, may
be required to work additional hours, overtime hours, or non-standard hours,
including varying shifts, nights, weekends and holidays, based on workload and
as the operation dictates.
Training Details: There will be approximately 8 weeks of
paid, mandatory training M-F from 8:00am-4:30pm. Training will consist of modules,
instructor-led training, and hands on training. Toward the end of the training, employees will
receive their regular, assigned work schedules. Training location may differ
from physical office location.
Licensing: Successful candidates selected for this
position will receive a job offer stating that continued employment as a State
Farm Claim Specialist is contingent upon meeting the requirements necessary to
obtain appropriate state(s) mandated licenses. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s),
and background checks required of various state(s). Failure to do so may result in termination. Telephone Monitoring: Positions are subject
to telephone monitoring and/or recording for quality assurance and training
purposes.
Travel Requirements: Travel overnight via commercial transportation
or driving motor vehicles to any location the company does business, or other
locations to conduct/attend training, conferences, meetings, and/or seminars
may be required.
