Starting Salary is $55,029.65 - $75,502.05 annually, $27.31 - $37.47 / hour. Because work-life-balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week! This is a remote position; however, competitive candidates must reside within 100 miles of the Murfreesboro, TN area.

A Day in the Life - Subrogation Claim Specialist:

• This subrogation department collects primarily auto property subrogation directly from other insurance carriers in a stewardship environment. This includes requesting missing or incomplete information, negotiating, and settling Subrogation collection using your understanding of property repair estimates and valuation, handling multiple causes of loss, including medical and uninsured subrogation, and routing to Arbitration/Litigation segments as necessary.
• You may serve as lead worker and resource to claim associates in Subrogation.

A Day in the Life - Subrogation Arbitration/Arbitration Hearing Claim Specialist:

• You will review claim files and evidence to ensure the claim is appropriate for arbitration before then initiating or responding to arbitration filings against other member companies, which includes writing negligence and damage arguments, uploading evidence to support liability and damages, asserting appropriate Affirmative Pleadings and Defenses, and communicating with policyholders, agents, or other insurance companies.
• As an arbitrator, your day would include reviewing cases and evidence and completing decisions with comments on liability and evidence. This requires completing certification and meeting criteria for claims experience and handling.

A Day in the Life - Subrogation Litigation, PGO, and Pre-Legal Claim Specialist:

• This subrogation department is focused on collecting money from at fault parties, OICs and individuals, on files that were not able to be resolved without the litigation process. You may conduct frequent communications with law firms to resolve the file and fulfill requests. These requests may include executing affidavits, affirming interrogatories, and reviewing legal documents that may require additional escalation to management.
• As a claim specialist, you will work exclusively with an assigned claim associate to provide guidance and support to the claim associate on matters that the claim associate is unable to handle or does not have the authority to resolve.
• This subrogation department also handles subrogation involving governmental entities, product liability, and restitution in a team and stewardship subrogation environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Candidates with claims experience and/or subrogation experience or knowledge of the subrogation process as a Claims Specialist 
• For Arbitration Hearing, candidates should have at least three years’ experience as a Claims Specialist.
• Experience as lead worker or resource to other claim handlers. 
• Depth of knowledge in subrogation handling as roles may be in initial recovery efforts, Arbitration, Litigation, Medical or other Subrogation segments. 

Hours of operation are continually evaluated and may change based on business need. Successful candidates are able and willing to work flexible work shifts and may be asked to work overtime and/or irregular hours.
