This In-Office position is for a Health Claim Assistant. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Performing routine but varied duties requiring a variety of office skills and procedural knowledge in direct support of health claim associates involved in the handling of health claims
- Providing administrative support to claim handlers as directed
- Applying claim procedures and legislative requirements to service health claims
- Performing administrative support on claim files and various reports
- Creating, administering, and maintaining appropriate databases and tables
Items to note:
- Physical requirements: Requires bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting objects typically weighing no more than 25 to 50 lbs., including the ability to push and pull a mail cart
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Work with minimal supervision
- Complete correspondence per the claim handler instruction
- Handle return mail for claims and mail claim's checks per direction
- Update claim files and make corrections as directed per the claim handler
- Manage claim's supplies as needed
- Establish new Disability Income claims per management direction
- Handle 1099s and provider updates as directed
- Complete imaging preparation including batch preparation, code verification, and correction of errors
- Assist in the training of less experienced associates and advises claim management of training progress
- Assist in implementing new or revised procedures and standard work
- Display and communicate solid understanding of defined procedures and is able to troubleshoot non-routine assistant issues
- Acts as a liaison between the health claims administrative area and other health units
- Handle to completion and/or route Disability Income, Long-term Care, or medical tasks and documents as directed

Potential starting salary range: $40,300 - $42,818.75
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 6% of base salary
