As a Finance Analyst within Information Security, Department Operations, you’ll be uniquely positioned with an exciting opportunity to directly influence and enable department leadership decision making through providing relevant, actionable, future-focused financial analysis and reporting. You’ll be a trusted advisor and strategic partner for all Information Security leadership including the Executive team, collaborating broadly with multiple areas across State Farm to enable execution of key department priorities. You will aid Information Security in accomplishing our mission to securely enable State Farm to help more people in more ways.

As a Finance Analyst, your key responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Managing the department’s current year budget including end-of-year forecasting.
- Developing processes and tools to develop and maintain a 3-to-5-year budget.
- Provide knowledge and insights through expense analysis to enable leadership to make operational and strategic decisions.
- Prepare accurate department expense reporting in a timely manner, communicating complex subject matter to the intended audience in a simplified manner that meaningfully informs decisions.
- Serve as a thought partner for all levels of leadership offering insights on department, suite, and team expenses for current, end-of-year forecasted, and future years.
- Partner with Planning & Analysis and Enterprise Technology to deliver on ad hoc expense related requests or research and resolved expense discrepancies.
- Prepare annual budget material, e.g., adequacy of resources and expense accountability reports.
- Contribute to efforts to modernize Information Security’s budget processes, tooling, and reporting including providing input to partners in Enterprise Technology and Planning & Analysis on the evolving needs of the department.

Candidates applying for this position should meet the following qualifications:
- Ability to develop subject matter knowledge of information security and risk.
- Ability to develop subject matter knowledge of existing department budget process, procedures, reporting.
- Ability to develop subject matter knowledge of the Legacy and PeopleSoft ledger structure and systems as it relates to the Information Security department.
- Ability to develop subject matter knowledge of the financial and accounting processes and associated tools provided to Information Security by Enterprise Technology.
- Ability to design, review and maintain Information Security’s budget process, procedures, tooling, and reporting.
- Experience applying cost accounting concepts, methods and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to represent various aspects of the Information Security budget at all levels of leadership within the department and with external business partners such as Enterprise Finance and Planning & Analysis.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work based on competing priorities.
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to dig deep into trends, learn business tools, and actively seek means to improve processes and controls.
- Broad business and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including utilization of advanced formulas and report automation techniques.
- Degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence data systems, financial/statistical resources, analytical software, and low/no code solutions, e.g., SharePoint, Power Apps/Automate, etc. is a plus.
- May be required to work irregular hours and/or a nonstandard work week as required.
