As a Packaging and Equipment Engineer you will develop new packaging solutions for chemical products and provide improvements to existing product packaging. As a Packaging and Equipment Engineer you will develop new packaging solutions for chemical products and provide improvements to existing product packaging. Understand chemical compatibility between equipment such as dispensers, dilution systems, or pumps with our chemicals and help select new equipment and troubleshoot compatibility failures and customer complaints in the field.
Position Responsibilities
- Source new packaging solutions as required for new and existing products.
- Provide improvements for existing product packaging as required
- Conduct package testing as necessary to ensure stability with chemical exposure and compliance with shipping regulations
- Manage bills of materials for equipment. Create and update as required.
- Help Product Management select and determine proper equipment and dispensers (not sourcing but identifying required attributes)
- Create and amend finished good purchase specifications. Work with outside vendors as necessary to ensure approved specifications are in place for purchased finished goods
- Ensure that product packaging complies with shipping regulations
- Assist Product Managers with identifying equipment needs for their chemical dispensing and dilution systems as well as for things like pumps or controllers
- Assist Quality with specification writing for all packaging and equipment
- Assist Quality with all packaging and equipment customer complaints
- B.S Degree in Engineering (packaging or equipment)
- 2 years’ experience in a work environment
- Good critical thinking skills
- The ability to work in a cross functional team across departments
