The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Civil Rights Office is looking for a Civil Rights Programs and Compliance Specialist 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing :

The main and primary duties of the FAA Civil Rights Office (CRO) Specialist (25N25007) is to ensure Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 compliance and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance by all departmental program areas and sub-recipients on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) assisted projects, programs and activities funded through the department.

This position's continued efforts in data collection required and reporting to aid the Civil Rights Office with determining compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations of State-owned airports. This position will provide oversight and leadership for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance with the Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program requirements in the department.

This position will be vital to the Civil Rights Office as they will be responsible for accurately tracking federal funds used within the aviation portion of the department and will have day-day oversight / communication with the FAA division office, airport staff, and the national aviation Civil Rights Office team to ensure compliance on all FAA laws and regulations as they pertain to Civil Rights.

The working environment you can expect :

This position is located at 2200 East 42nd Avenue in the Annex Building in Anchorage. The building is located at the intersection of Lake Otis & Tudor. It is a shared office with another member of the Civil Rights Office team. Work is primarily conducted in an office setting at a computer or collaborating with others.
