- This position is open to All Applicants.The Department of Administration, Public Defender Agency (PDA) is recruiting for multiple Client Services Navigator (AmeriCorps) positions in multiple locations.
What You Will Be Doing:
AmeriCorps Members at the Public Defender Agency have the opportunity to learn about the legal system, hone administrative, interpersonal, and professional skills to further their career development in the legal field, social services, and re-entry. Most importantly, they get to do this while working as a team to provide meaningful contributions to Alaska, as the work we do impacts people’s lives and protects the constitutional rights of all Alaskans.

The Agency’s mission is to provide constitutionally mandated legal representation to indigent clients appointed by the court. The Agency utilizes a holistic defense approach and engages AmeriCorps Members as Client Services Navigators to address clients’ non-legal barriers to success such as substance use disorder, homelessness, food insecurity, and more.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
The Agency has thirteen offices statewide, located in Anchorage, Bethel, Dillingham, Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Kotzebue, Nome, Palmer, Sitka, and Utqiagvik.
Who We Are Looking For:
This is not an employed position. Client Services Navigators are AmeriCorps Members completing a 12-month commitment to national service. Members receive a living allowance of $35,000.00 for 12 months of service. The program starts 8/4/2025 and runs through 7/31/2026.
Minimum age of 18. High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. Previous experience in social services coordination and volunteer service preferred. Minimum Qualifications
