Our offices are conveniently located on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau, or in the Atwood building in Anchorage. The position has the opportunity for flexible scheduling and teleworking to promote work/life balance. For those choosing to work on-site, the office is in a central location with plenty of parking, nearby restaurants, and coffee shops. Occasional travel may be required.Who we are looking for: We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies: Knowledge of best practices and procedures in computer science and data literacy pedagogyKnowledge of best practices in implementation of state academic standardsKnowledge of technology careers, career pathways, and upcoming developments in the fieldAbility to read, understand, and interpret state and federal rules and regulations related to statewide academic standardsExperience with project management, including management of collaborative working groupsExperience providing training to adult learners. Experience providing training to teachers and district staff is preferred.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in education, one year of which was as a staff advisor/specialist, administrator, supervisor or consultant in planning, developing and maintaining standards and evaluating educational and vocational curricula or educational programs in a specialized field.Substitution: Appropriate graduate study may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the non-specialized experience to a maximum of two years.
