The Criminal Justice Technician 1 (CJT1) works under direction to provide routine support of essential services to assist in the daily operation of the Department of Public Safety’s Statewide Services Online Reporting System and CJIS Record Validations. The CJT1 will provide non-complex technical and administrative support to the general public, law enforcement users, and administrators of these applications. The position performs on-the-job training to learn to adequately assist in the support of law enforcement applications.
The Criminal Justice Technician 2 (CJT2) works independently to provide a variety of advanced paraprofessional support to essential services for the daily maintenance and operation of the Department of Public Safety’s Statewide Services Online Reporting System and CJIS Record Validations. Criminal Justice Technician 2 Minimum Qualifications (Range 14)
Successful completion of training under a formally established Criminal Justice Technician 1-2 flexible staffing training plan with the State of Alaska;
OR

This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidate’s credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level, you will be promoted to the higher level after completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.
