The Department of Administration, Division of Finance is recruiting for a Deputy Director in Juneau!


What You Will Be Doing:

This position serves as Deputy Director for the Division of Finance and oversees multiple sections that provide statewide support through subordinate managers. 

Working as a partner with the Division Director, its key responsibilities include analyzing and recommending division goals and policies, identifying necessary regulatory changes, and providing short- and long-term planning, efficient resource management, and effective program delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Positions in the partially exempt service are exempt from the recruitment processes required by AS 39.25.150 (3)-(10).

Special Note:
The partially exempt service is established by statute and is subject to the state's classification and pay plans. Employees appointed to partially exempt positions are exempt from the usual recruitment process and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Partially exempt positions are not covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA),Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM),Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO),or Master`s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required.

At time of interview, please provide the following:

  • Copies of your two (2) most recent performance evaluations.
  • A list of three (3) professional references, if not already listed in your application.

EDUCATION 

To verify education is being used to meet and/or support the required minimum qualifications/competencies, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed.
