What you will be doing:
In this role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks at a State maintenance station, including a Category III FAA Part 139 certificated airport. Your responsibilities will include maintaining State highways, airports, seaplane bases, bridges, culverts, and guardrails, ensuring they are safe and fully operable for public use. You will conduct airport and highway maintenance such as snow and ice control, pavement repair, sign installation and repair, drainage maintenance, and equipment upkeep. You will also operate heavy equipment like dump trucks, graders, plows, and loaders. Additionally, you will perform Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) duties, including stand-by, certification, and training, while maintaining ARFF equipment. You will carry out runway inspections, wildlife management tasks, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and airport security protocols. Finally, you will complete necessary documentation, including daily work reports, vehicle inspections, and safety logs.

COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383), to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety-sensitive duties, and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
Equipment Operator Lead Journey 3
A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with N-Tanker and Air Brake endorsement, is required at time of hire.
Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOT start work in a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test. According to federal regulations, all violations and refusals will be maintained with the Federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse database.
