What you will be doing:
This position independently provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) design, implementation, data management, and technical support to the Division of Wildlife Conservation. This includes support, design, configuration, and maintenance of geospatial databases and servers for the computation, analysis, and delivery of geospatial data and products.
This position works on a team with one GIS Analyst 2 and an additional GIS Analyst 3 and collaborates on GIS infrastructure and shared resources within the Department.
You will work with wildlife biologists, game managers, GIS analysts, and researchers to utilize GIS resources to meet the mission and objectives of the Division of Wildlife Conservation.

This position will be recruited statewide and the candidate can be based from any location across Alaska, including Juneau, Anchorage, Fairbanks, and surrounding communities.
You will communicate with their peers via regular staff meetings and routinely interact with biologists, application developers, GIS analysts, and other staff throughout the state to develop solutions and provide excellent customer service. This position may be eligible to telework.
