 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is seeking a Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2/Lead to join our team and help us Keep Alaska Moving!
 
What you will be doing:

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of airport systems, including baggage conveyors, access controls, power distribution, lighting, HVAC, parking lot gates, and overhead doors. Duties involve diagnosing and repairing motors, controls, and other components, maintaining various equipment, and ordering necessary parts and supplies. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the proper operation of automated systems and assisting with other tasks as needed.

Our office is located at 5801 Airport Industrial Road near the terminal of the Fairbanks International Airport. Special Note:
This position requires the following:
  • A minimum of 8000 hours / 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the electrical trade. 
  • A State of Alaska Certificate of Electrical Fitness, Journeyman Card.
  • A valid driver's license.

Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
