What You Will Be Doing:
As the Medicaid Program Specialist 3, you will develop, implement, and manage statewide communication programs for the division. Your responsibilities include coordinating public relations, media content, publications, and training programs. You will collaborate on significant public relations projects impacting the organization and the public. Additionally, you'll handle responses to inquiries from legislative offices, the Office of the Governor, and the Commissioner’s Office regarding division programs. This role also involves managing requests under the Alaska Public Records Act, allowing for independent judgment and self-direction.

The working environment you can expect:
The work location may be in either Juneau or Anchorage and will depend on the selected candidate's location. If hired in Anchorage, your office will be conveniently located in Midtown’s Business Park, a single-story building with ample free parking. The area offers convenient shopping and dining and access to regional transportation. Close by, Cuddy Park provides a place for lunchtime strolls. If hired in Juneau, you will be part of the Director’s office in vibrant downtown Juneau’s Alaska Office Building. You will have covered free parking and a newly remodeled office with a wall of windows overlooking Mount Juneau, Mount Roberts, and the Capitol Building. Shopping, dining, and hiking trails are all within walking distance. In both locations, we offer the option of a hybrid telework schedule with 1 day in the office and 4 days at home. Initial onboarding and training may require full-time office work for a limited period.

Experience equivalent to those typically gained by:
Progressively responsible professional experience such as supporting the administration of a Medicaid or Medicare program, health insurance service, health insurance management information system, health insurance finance or accounting program, Supplemental Security Income benefits or vocational rehabilitation program; auditing or monitoring medical or public assistance programs for fraud or quality assurance; processing medical claims using medical coding and medical billing knowledge; designing, developing, testing for quality assurance, and implementing an information system and/or training or education which includes such course work as business administration, computer sciences, economics, healthcare, legal studies, medical billing or coding, public health, public assistance, psychology.
