The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a
Mental Health Clinician 1/2/3
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Mental Health Clinician 1/2/3, you will provide skilled and intensive psychotherapeutic casework services and general mental health services to patients in an 80-bed inpatient setting. You will have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings with the licensed independent practitioner, registered nurse, and other clinical staff for the discussion of diagnoses and treatment of patients. This position completes psychosocial assessments; initiate master treatment plans, in addition to update weekly treatment plans; coalesce with community partners on treatment progress and recommendations to ensure patients will be successful in their recovery while being maintained in their community; coordinate discharge planning for patients that are scheduled to discharge; and is responsible for communicating with family members, support systems, and guardians.

The selected candidate will work in an environment that is fast paced, busy and challenging at times, but embraces collaboration through working closely with supervisors, managers, and personnel to assist in providing services to Alaska Psychiatric Institute.
This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation.

Minimum Qualifications
Mental Health Clinician 1
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in counseling, psychology, social work, child guidance, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
Mental Health Clinician 2
Master’s degree from an accredited college in counseling, psychology, social work, child guidance, vocational rehabilitation, or a closely related field.
AND
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities in

FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at any level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. It is recommended that you apply for all levels if you qualify.
This position requires Mandt certification. New employees are required to take a 2-day Mandt certification class. Mandt classes are offered as part of API's new hire orientation; this position requires all employees to be fingerprinted for a background check (requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network - APSIN and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
