Job Description
The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, is recruiting for a Natural Resource Manager in Anchorage.

What You Will Be Doing :
Are you ready to take on an exciting leadership role in shaping Alaska's future? We are looking for a dynamic and visionary leader to direct and inspire a team of land management professionals responsible for overseeing the statewide Aquatic Farm Leasing and Shore Fishery Leasing Programs. This position is a program manager of two state-wide programs involved in managing the tideland and submerged land resources of the State of Alaska. The NRM 1 position works on the Shore Fishery and the Aquatic Farm Leasing teams with the NRM 2 and five Natural Resource Specialists that enhance the quality of life for present and future Alaskans. This is more than just a job - it is an opportunity to lead, innovate, and shape the legacy of Alaska's public lands.

The Working Environment You Can Expect :
This position is located in downtown Anchorage. SCRO is a positive atmosphere geared towards collaboration and teamwork. The Anchorage office has a beautiful view of the Chugach Mountain Range and is near a wide range of services, the park strip, and the Coastal Trail system.
Normal business hours are 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM Monday through Friday, and this position currently requires an 8-hour daily work schedule with options for an alternate work week and part-time remote work. We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following position-specific competencies.

For purposes of the minimum qualifications, natural resource management is defined as the management of the land, water, mineral, forest, oil, gas, agricultural, archaeological, natural and cultural history, park, and related surface and subsurface resources. Experience or education in natural resource management means involvement in the above resources exclusively. Those with experience or education in managing these resources may specialize in different management functions (for example, planning, regulation, research or title). All of this experience is applicable to the natural resource management definition. Some positions may require education in a particular area of natural resource management or specific technical knowledge and training gained through specialized education or progressively greater responsibilities at the lower levels of the series.
