Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify.The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 (Safety Program Coordinator) located in Anchorage or Juneau!
What you will be doing:
As the Department Safety Coordinator, this position is responsible for organizing, coordinating, overseeing and tracking the safety training, procedures and safety gear for all divisions. This is a new program to ensure Fish and Game employees are prepared to be in the field, are meeting training standards, our safety gear is up to date, and our offices are properly equipped. This position provides a flexible work schedule and is expected to work around 30 hours a week.

This position can be filled in Anchorage or Juneau; each location offers ample parking directly outside the building.
Juneau ADFG Headquarters at 1255 W 8th Street
Anchorage ADFG Office at 333 Raspberry Road
The successful candidate will interact with divisional staff regularly but will also be in charge of managing the safety program budget. The work schedule will be irregular, with busy and slow times throughout the year.
We will work with you on schedule adjustments for special situations.
Training opportunities will be available.
Will require occasional travel throughout Alaska.
- Will work with the Firearms and Wildlife Safety Officer and have access to firearms.

Experience being in the presence of potentially dangerous wildlife.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent planning/organization skills.
Ability to work irregular schedules including some weekends, evenings, and overnight stays.
Physical Security: Knowledge of methods and controls to protect an organization from natural or man-made threats to physical locations where information systems equipment is located, or work is performed.
