Job Summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a dynamic multi-tasker with excellent communication skills. This role involves delivering psycho-educational programs and case management services to the offender/resident population through classes and one-on-one sessions on weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing individual plans, and assisting in transitional planning for offenders leaving the reentry center. This position requires interaction with internal and external staff, Community Corrections Officers (CCOs), and community providers. Additionally, maintaining accurate documentation and statistical data/reports is essential. The role demands an individual who can work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Duties

  • Delivers programming services and classes in a group or one-on-one setting during weekdays, weekends, and evenings to offenders/residents under supervision of the Community Corrections Division
  • Case management of various elements of offender/resident participation, class completions, documentation and data entry
  • Statistical gathering and reporting on programs, offender/resident needs, participation and success of programs
  • Communicates, interacts and works with internal and external employees, contractors, community agencies, programming delivery entities and offenders/residents
  • Drives on State business

Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s)

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Minimum of one (1) year experience working with justice-involved individuals, probationers, parolees, or inmates

Minimum of one (1) year experience in instruction or teaching of programs, classes or groups

Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.

Retirement

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
