Job Summary

Under general direction of the Right of Way Project Management Section Manager, this upper level Right of Way Agent Senior independently performs timely and efficient Right of Way project management and coordination to ensure projects progress consistently, are completed as scheduled and are in compliance with all State and Federal statutes and regulations.

Project coordination includes reviewing, communicating, negotiating, finalizing, and monitoring the related processes within the Right of Way Group, including land survey, plans, title data, legal descriptions, appraisals, acquisition, relocation, demolition, condemnation and Right of Way Clearances are completed as required in a timely, efficient and lawful manner.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. The first six (6) months of employment must be in the office.

Job Duties

Coordinates the development and completion of Right of Way projects, ensuring the timely completion of all required services and products, including legal documents, environmental and engineering plans and documents, applications, appraisals, exhibits and court related materials. Provides training and mentoring to lower level Coordinators. Provides Right of Way Clearances in a timely, efficient and lawful manner.

Arranges and Coordinates meetings with management and project stakeholders, communicating Right of Way, ADOT and Federal requirements, policies and procedures. Develops and/or distributes essential project information to maintain progress and meet project schedules.

Administers ADOT's responsibility assigned by FHWA to oversee Local Public Agencies' Right of Way requirements, including audits for compliance, providing technical assistance, and providing training workshops.

Attends and participates in meetings and training as required and assigned.

May be required to drive a state vehicle in the course and scope of state business. Out of town travel and overnight lodging as needed.

Selective Preference(s)

Four or more years of experience in relevant area with increased responsibility over time, with at least two years specialized experience in area of assignment; A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field may substitute for two years of specialized experience.

Pre-Employment Requirements

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
