Job Summary
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (Safety) provides general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally disabled individuals utilizing nursing and mental health principles to apply therapeutic interventions and modalities. The LVN demonstrates a basic understanding of nursing requirements for the adult and geriatric individual.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides structure, and maintains a therapeutic milieu in collaboration with other disciplines and the individual.
- Takes appropriate action in emergency situations based on unit and hospital procedures.
- Administers medications and treatments and takes and charts vital signs.
- Safely utilizes medical equipment following hospital policy and procedure.
- Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of interventions and discharge criteria as reflected in the care plan.
- Supervises individuals' activities and assists other disciplines in the provision of care as outlined in the care plans.
Requirements
- Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any Shift to meet the needs of the facility.

Training Expectations
- NEO can be scheduled up to 30 days for level of care staff (clinical).
