Assists licensed staff in consumer treatment programs and to do other related work, following established standards and procedures. Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in this duty statement. On-going interaction with consumers. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment. Lifting up to 50 pounds, often combined with pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, grabbing, carrying, kneeling, twisting and reaching at or above shoulder level. Includes sitting, standing and walking. Will be required to work weekends and holidays.

Department Information Canyon Springs is located in Riverside County in Cathedral City, 110 miles southeast of Los Angeles in the Coachella Valley. Recreation / cultural attractions include golf, tennis, desert preserves, parks, rock climbing, hiking, biking, museums, art galleries, and theater. Next door is well-known city of Palm Springs. Although known as a winter resort area, increasing numbers are making the Coachella Valley their year-round home.

Education : Completion of a Psychiatric Technician training program accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners. (Equivalent study and training may be substituted for the required accredited training if such study and training has been accepted by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners as qualifying for the Psychiatric Technician licensing examination.)
