The position will be in Sacramento Headquarters Office or one of the in-state field offices (Bakersfield, Cerritos, Diamond Bar, Fresno, Glendale, Oakland, Rancho Mirage, Redding, Riverside, Salinas, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Ana (Opening May 1, 2025), Santa Rosa, Ventura). The location of this position will be based on the location of the most qualified candidate.

The Business Taxes Specialist I will be trained to perform tasks, such as :

  • Conducts the most difficult and complex audits.
  • Explains audit findings to taxpayers and their representatives.
  • Prepares appropriate audit reports.
  • Performs other job-related duties, as required.

The incumbent may act as a lead with other audit team members to help in completion of audits or for training and development for team members.

The incumbent may be required to travel up to 50% of the time, both in-state and out-of-state, including overnight travel.
